Client Services volunteer
NOAF is looking for passionate and committed people (especially people of color and/or Southerners) interested in working with abortion funding in South Louisiana. As a small non-profit organization, we rely on committed community members to provide screening, resources, and authorize funding pledges for our clients via our English and Spanish helplines. We seek to lift the voices of people within our community to serve the community you come from.
Job Description
Client Services Volunteers conduct initial screening and financial counseling; provide information and resources, as well as advocacy to clients seeking funding through our helpline. This means that our network of Client Services volunteers field calls from folks seeking abortions in our community and disperse funding in the form of pledges sent directly to clinics. Must be willing to commit to volunteering for 10 hours/month for at least 6 months. Can commit to attending at least 2 weekly hour-long Client Services meetings a month, and have reliable access to a secure Internet connection.

Desired Skills and Experience
No previous professional experience required.
NOAF seeks to uplift the voices and develop leaders of color, Southerners, and people who have had abortions. Candidates for the Client Services Volunteer position unconditionally affirm individual’s rights to choose whether, when, and how to become a parent, possess knowledge of the dynamics of reproductive healthcare including abortion, and a history of successful advocacy for self and/or others. Candidates should be confident in their ability to communicate and manage services via phone and electronic communication. Must be comfortable working remotely. Personal or professional experience working in abortion care, access or advocacy is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese is a plus.
